INCOLOY 825 / W.Nr. 2.4858 (UNS N08825)
Incoloy 825 is a titanium-stabilized fully austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy with intentional additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium, conforming to German DIN standard Werkstoff Nr. 2.4858 and ASTM B409 / B424 / B704.
The balanced chemical composition delivers outstanding resistance to both oxidizing and reducing corrosive media: chromium provides passivation against nitric acid; molybdenum improves pitting & crevice corrosion resistance; copper greatly enhances performance in sulfuric and phosphoric acids; sufficient nickel resists chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking; titanium stabilizes carbon to prevent intergranular corrosion after welding or high-temperature exposure.
Solution annealed at 920–980°C followed by rapid cooling, Alloy 825 maintains good mechanical strength from cryogenic temperature up to 550°C, with excellent formability and weldability.
It is widely used in chemical processing plants, pickling lines, flue gas desulfurization, offshore oil & gas, seawater cooling systems, phosphoric acid production and nuclear waste handling.
Available forms: round bar, flat bar, plate, sheet, seamless tube, welded pipe, forging and wire, supplied with DIN EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 mill test certificates for EU market.

ABOUT ALLOY 825
The nickel in Alloy 825, in conjunction with the molybdenum and copper, gives superb resistance to reducing environments such as those containing sulfuric and phosphoric acids. The molybdenum prevents resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy’s chromium content confers resistance to a variety of oxidising substances such as nitric acid, nitrates and oxidising salt.
